How 90 seconds of rock can get you rolling?

I haven't done any article reviews for some time on this blog, but someone posted this on my Facebook page, I just had to put my '2 cents worth' in.

Dr Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic, a professor in human behaviour, noted various ways one can improve productivity in the work place.  And this included playing Rock Music 'mid morning' to wake up the minds of employees when it has been hours since they have had breakfast (or morning tea) but still have a while to wait before lunch (or in my case, since I had my first meal of the day, until the meal break during my shift, which is a night shift).

And when the wee hours of the morning get a bit much, then it is time to *crank it up* in terms of 'heaviness', volume or speed.  Out comes the iPod, and on comes the Thrash (or whatever it is I am listening to at the time).  It's enough to keep me from getting bored at work while I am sorting mail - especially when I have no preferred work colleagues to sit next to and talk to at the time.

So there you have it, this is another way good rock music can be good for you.  And it doesn't have to be Thrash Metal (though for me, it is good 'middle of the night music') - it can be any sort of upbeat music, be it hard rock, punk, disco, electronica or whatever it is that keeps you going when you feel like nothing more than climbing the walls of your office or whereever it is you are working.
